Solitude

Original Artwork by BoStar

Peace does not always come from escaping life’s storms. Sometimes it comes from finding a quiet place within them.

For BoStar, that place is a lake.

Solitude was inspired by the thought of being alone in a boat, fishing in still water, far from the demands and distractions of everyday life. It is not a picture of loneliness, but of restoration—the kind of silence that gives the mind room to settle and the spirit room to breathe.

Created in chalk on pastel paper, the piece reflects BoStar’s deeply personal definition of solitude.

In his own words:

“I was thinking about finding peace in the midst of life’s storms. Nothing would give me more peace than being out on a lake, fishing, in a boat by myself. My definition of ‘Solitude’.”

There is something universal in that desire. Everyone has a place where the world seems to quiet down—a place where responsibilities loosen their grip and the noise fades into the background.

For BoStar, it is the water.

Solitude invites the viewer into that stillness. It captures the feeling of stepping away from everything for a moment and remembering what peace feels like.

For a collector, this piece offers more than a tranquil landscape. It is a reminder that even in the middle of life’s storms, there can still be places—real or imagined—where we are able to find calm.
