Maintaining a barrier of anonymity is essential to our mission. Customer names are never given to designers and we never release designer names to customers. This barrier protects both designers and customers. All of our designers have a past that is full of damage, hurt and pain. There are many people who believe that the worst moments of a person’s life should define them forever – we disagree. By enforcing a barrier of anonymity we ensure that the designs speak for themselves. Customers will never be contacted by a designer unless the customer initiates contact outside of InmateCreate.com.

The act of creation is rooted in the divine image essential to humanity. Creativity is the antithesis of crime. The solution to the brokenness of humanity is a deeper connection to divinity. By empowering incarcerated people to create, we seek to counteract the internal spiritual brokenness that leads to societal harm.

Most incarcerated people do not need rehabilitation, they need transformation.

The term “rehabilitate” implies a return to a prior state of health or function. Many of our designers have a past full of dysfunction. We are not interested in returning to the past; we are creating a new future through personal initiative, education, and spiritual growth.
