History speaks louder when it takes up space.
This oversized design centers on the Adinkra symbol Akoben — the War Horn, a historic call to action. It represents vigilance, resistance, and responsibility. Because of that, this piece reminds us that past struggles still demand present action.
This design was inspired by civil rights freedom fighter Jafar Saidi (also known as Nafi Hakim and William Borders). His legacy reflects lifelong resistance and continued advocacy for freedom. Therefore, this tee honors action over comfort and courage over silence.
Artist Brother Onalaja chose Akoben to signal urgency. Not just inspiration. Not just remembrance. Instead, real movement and revolutionary action.
The border text reads “Freedom Is Never Free.”
The lettering appears in Afrikan Diasporic Glyph, created by Ajamu Olushegun Iyapo. As a result, the message connects heritage, struggle, and future vision into one visual language.
The oversized fit adds presence and statement energy. It’s designed for bold expression and modern streetwear layering.
Most importantly, this tee creates real-world impact.
